OLS Solicitors Champions Community Spirit Through Will Aid Initiative

In an inspiring show of community support and philanthropy, OLS Solicitors, with offices in Llanelli and Swindon, has once again demonstrated its commitment to charitable causes by raising an impressive £8,510 in this year’s Will Aid campaign. This remarkable achievement not only underscores the firm’s dedication to social responsibility but also marks them as the highest donating firm in the region.

Since 2019, OLS Solicitors has actively participated in the annual Will Aid initiative, a nationwide campaign that encourages solicitors to offer their will-writing services in exchange for charitable donations. Over the years, their total contribution has reached an outstanding £12,530. The firm’s approach involves waiving their usual fees for basic wills and instead inviting clients to make a donation. This innovative method of fundraising has proven highly effective, benefiting a variety of partner charities both within the UK and globally.

Lara Davies, a Director at OLS Solicitors, expressed her pride in the firm’s involvement: “We are thrilled to lead the way as the highest donating firm in Wales. It is a source of great pride for our entire team to contribute to Will Aid. We are particularly pleased to provide so many individuals with the peace of mind that comes from having a professionally crafted will.”

The success of the campaign at OLS Solicitors is a testament to the collective effort of its dedicated staff. “Participating in Will Aid has been a rewarding experience for all of us. It’s wonderful to know that our efforts will aid deserving charities that make a significant difference in people’s lives, both locally and abroad,” Lara added.

Will Aid has been an influential force since its inception in 1988, raising over £24 million in donations. This funding supports crucial and life-changing work carried out by its partner charities. Jonathan Chase, chair of Will Aid, praised the firm’s contributions: “Congratulations to the team at OLS Solicitors for such a fantastic result this year. It’s heartening to see legal professionals lend their expertise to such a worthy cause, ensuring peace of mind for their clients while supporting vital charity work.”

Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid’s campaign director, also commended the collective effort: “This year’s campaign was a great team effort. Thanks to everyone at OLS Solicitors who dedicated their time and expertise. Your generosity helps uphold the wishes of many while supporting the transformative work of our partner charities.”

The Will Aid campaign runs each November, with solicitors across the country offering to draft basic wills in exchange for a suggested donation, fostering a spirit of generosity and community assistance. At OLS Solicitors, the tradition of giving and community service continues to thrive, proving that even the most routine legal services can be a powerful tool for social good.
